Teresa and Mitch have the kind of connection that we dream of! They’re cute together, make each other laugh, are on the same wavelength, and know how to celebrate in style! They didn’t let a spot of Summer rain get in the way of committing to love and a new life together, and we had a blast being there to witness it all!
On the day of the wedding, we met up with Mitch, his close family and groomsmen in the peninsula town of Rye at the “Stone, Sand & Sea” Airbnb that they had booked. The house has lots of natural light (perfect for photos), a solar heated swimming pool (perfect for late night skinny dips), enough room to sleep 11 guests and cook up quite a storm for them in the chef’s standard kitchen. Oh, and an open fireplace… what more could you want for a pre-wedding getaway!
Mitch and his groomsmen wore made-to-order three piece suits from YSG & Co, who offer completely bespoke ensembles for stylish men. With crisp white shirts, thin boho-style tan leather braces, and navy blue bow ties, the boys topped everything off with smart blue check suits, in a trendy slimline cut. We think they must have all felt pretty chuffed with how good they looked!
Mitch went out to have a cigar with his old man (to calm the pre-wedding jitters) before taking some photos with his groomsmen on the streets of Rye before heading off to the wedding! In the video you can see their awesome woven leather loafers from Lluis Shoes & Co, check out their Instagram here!
In the meantime, Teresa was just down the road at another Airbnb – this time in the suburb of Blairgowrie. This luxe property sleeps 10, set in award winning landscaped surrounds, floor to ceiling windows, and an incredible coastal colour palette – our shooters were itching to spend more time at this property!
But the real star of the show that morning was Teresa herself. Getting ready with her bridesmaids, they sipped champagne before helping Teresa into her gown. Designed by the bohemian ideas at Lovers Society and expertly fitted by the team at The Bridal Atelier, Teresa’s gown was the epitome of modern romanticism with plunging neckline, open back and voluminous full-hemmed skirt.
After some quick photos, Teresa opened her wedding gift from Mitch! It was an awesome collection of notes and photos made by the team at NoteCube – and Teresa couldn’t keep a few happy tears from spilling over as she looked at the photos and personalised notes that Mitch had selected for her. What an awesome way to set the tone for the day and such a cute souvenir to look back on! (Do you remember when we said that Teresa & Mitch are a couple on the same wavelength as each other? Well, unbeknownst to Mitch, Teresa had got him a gift from NoteCube as well! How cute is that?!) With tears dried and the last of the pre-wedding Champagne secured in everyone’s stomachs, it was time to get the show on the road and head to the wedding venue!
Mitch and Teresa chose to have their ceremony at the Old Apple Shed winery and cider brewery on the Mornington Peninsula. With a large enough space to host all of your family and friends, set in a relaxed and quirky environment, the family owned and operated business will be sure to provide a casual setting for your next party! Check out their grazing boards and deals on wine on their Instagram here!
Teresa and her bridesmaids carried beautiful native bouquets from Flower Head Events and the arbour was decorated with a structural native piece that perfectly complimented the Old Apple Shed’s interior. Check out their Wedding Award Nominated work here.
Teresa was handed away at the altar by her father, and the incomparable Samuel Miller (a.k.a The Bearded Celebrant) took over proceedings with his trademark larikin charm.
Paperwork signed, kisses planted, and applause lauded, it was time for the reception to get underway! The grazing space had been expertly styled by the team at Dream Catcher Weddings, and immediately the casual atmosphere was feeling festive and joyous. After a photoshoot in the surrounding vineyard (with a white umbrella that came in handy as Melbourne’s famous changeable weather put on a bit of a show!), it was time for Mitch and Teresa to relax with a few beers as the speeches to commence.
After cutting the mouthwatering double-tier cake from Regnier Cakes, it was time to hit the dancefloor! The families of Teresa and Mitch kicked up quite a storm well into the night and we left the Old Apple Shed listening to the sounds of their merriment.
Thanks for having us guys, congratulations again and all the best for your future!
